PSP 2012

Plant and Seaweed Polysaccharides Symposium 2012

July 17-20, 2012
La Cité, Nantes Events Center (France)

Welcome to the homepage of the 2012 Plant and Seaweed  Polysaccharide Workshop

The 2012 Plant and Seaweed Polysaccharide Workshop, PSP2012, will be  held during July 17-20  at the International Convention Centre (La Cite, Nantes events center) in Nantes, France.

Le congrès PSP 2012 se tiendra du 17 au 20 juillet 2012 à la Cité des Congrès de Nantes (télécharger le résumé en Français)

PSP 2012 is co-organized by both French National Institute for Agricultural Research (Nantes) and French National institute for Scientific Research (Roscoff) as a satellite meeting of the 26th International Carbohydrate Symposium (ICS2012) held in Madrid, Spain, July 22-27, 2012.

Scope
In the tradition of PPW series started in Melbourne (Australia) in 1980, PSP 2012 will explore recent advances and future trends in understanding the relationship between structure and properties or uses of plant polysaccharides, extended in Nantes to seaweed polysaccharides. Lectures and posters will be organized into five topical areas.

Deadlines:

Abstract submission: April 14th
Registration: early before May 26, late until June 25th

Topics and invited speakers:

1. Structure of polysaccharides and their assemblies, including evolution of natural polysaccharides assemblies
Maria DALGAARD MIKKELSEN (Copenhagen University, Denmark)

2. Biorefinery and green chemistry
Maria TUOHY (NUI Galway, Ireland)

3. Polysaccharides and new enzymatic pathways: metagenomics, Cazymes and enzymatic modifications in concentrated systems...
Gabrielle VERONESE (INSA Toulouse, France)

4. Innovative polysaccharide-based materials:  smart materials, nanomaterials, biomedical applications...
Lars BERGLUND (KTH Stocklom, Sweden)

5. Polysaccharides and healthy food
Haruki YAMADA (KILS Tokyo, Japan)

We kindly invite you to participate in PSP 2012 and to enjoy a stimulating congress and  the beautiful city of Nantes.
We particularly encourage early registration and submission of abstracts.
