International Forestry and Global Issues

May 19th to 23rd, 2014
INRA campus, Champenoux, France

3 ECTS credits

The next edition of the PhD School on “International Forestry and Global Issues” (IFGI) will be held in Champenoux and Nancy, the French capital of forest research and education, from 19 to 23 May 2014. The course is organised by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), the European Forest Institute Central European Regional Office and the Observatory for European Forests (EFICENT-OEF), and AgroParisTech.

During one week, IFGI 2014 will address a range of forest issues, topics which rank high on the international and national forest and environmental research and policy agendas. The course will offer PhD students and young researchers an excellent opportunity to interact with internationally renowned experts from forest science and policy. Download here the detailed presentation of the course.

The course is addressed at PhD students and young scientists whose research is on forest related topics. Course topics will be approached in a trans‐disciplinary manner and therefore we welcome students with different research backgrounds to participate (e.g. ecologists, economists, geneticists, foresters, sociologists, etc.). This course is valued at 3 ECTS credits.

The organising committee will select around 30 highly-motivated participants. All interested candidates should fill in the online application form and include a motivation letter in which they indicate the topic(s) of the courseweek that would be of highest relevance to their on-going research, and what they would like to get out of their participation. More details on the application process (including deadlines) are available under Registration.

There are neither registration nor tuition fees. The organising committee will not cover travel and accommodation costs.
